Harp and Violin Duo - Wedding Ceremony - Maiko and Daniel

Maiko and Daniel were married in the Roe Room of Matilda Bay Restaurant. The couple had our violin and harp duo perform an eclectic selection of pop music before, after and throughout the ceremony.

Maiko and Daniel included their young nieces and nephews in the processional, who walked down the aisle to 'Under the Sea' from The Little Mermaid. The bridesmaids also entered to this piece, before Maiko made her entrance to 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri.

They signed the register to 'All of Me' by John Legend. This is a very romantic song and fit well with the occasion. The exited to the upbeat 'Shut Up and Dance' by Walk the Moon.

The couple held their lunchtime reception downstairs in the Catalina Room of the venue for family and friends, where we continued to provide music.

All in all, it was a beautifully moving ceremony and we wish the happy couple all the best.

String Duo - Wedding Ceremony - Maria and Ian

Maria and Ian chose to be married in an intimate but moving ceremony at St Mary's Parish, Leederville. They were surrounded by about 20 of their closest family and friends.

The couple included a few readings during the ceremony and chose for music to be provided by our string duo, playing all classical music. The music choices were traditional pieces, with Maria walking down the aisle to the timeless 'Canon in D' by Pachelbel.

After the formalities, the couple signed the register to 'Panis Angelicus' by Franck and exited the church as husband and wife to the traditional 'Trumpet Voluntary' by Clarke.

For background music before and after the ceremony, we played a number of classical pieces and modern romantic songs to suit the occasion.

Smales Jewellers proudly presented the Rolex 2016 Baselword collection at an exclusive viewing at Linton and Kay Galleries, Subiaco. Guests were welcomed to view the beautifully crafted pieces whilst being treated with fine food and drinks by Beaumonde Catering.

Music was provided by our string trio, who played upbeat contemporary music throughout the evening.

String Quartet - Wedding Ceremony - Natasha and Mark

Natasha and Mark celebrated their love by tying the knot on a Sunday afternoon at Caversham House. They had planned to hold the ceremony outside in the Hidden Gardens but the ceremony was moved into the marquee due to wet weather. Nonetheless, the elegant venue was the perfect setting for their celebration.

The couple asked us to select background music for them, instructing with the request for classical music before the ceremony and contemporary music following.

The couple chose traditional and modern wedding songs to feature throughout the Catholic service. The bridesmaid and bride walked down the aisle to 'Canon in D' by Johann Pachelbel.

They signed the register to 'Marry You' by Bruno Mars and then walked back up the aisle as husband and wife, with 'Arrival of the Queen of Sheba' by G.F. Handel playing.

String Quartet - Wedding Ceremony - Deanne and Matthew

Deanne and Matthew married at a beautiful suburban church in the final few days of the winter.

String Trio - Wedding Ceremony - Amber and Cameron

We were delighted to be involved in such a romantic ceremony in an equally romantic location. The greenery of the gardens made for the perfect setting in keeping with the Gatsby theme of the occasion. The wedding was delayed by about half an hour as the father of the bride got lost on the way to the ceremony! Our musicians are experienced and continued to play music until the ceremony was ready to begin.

This beautiful winter wedding featured the following songs:

  • Processional: 'Dare You To Move' - Switchfoot
  • Signing of the Register: 'Yellow' - Coldplay and 'Wonderful Tonight' - Eric Clapton
  • Recessional: 'I'm Yous' - Jason Mraz

Amber and Cameron - thank you so much for involving us in your big day.

String Trio - Community Event - Kids Are Kids! Gala Dinner

Our fabulous musicians braved the cold and stormy weather to entertain guests for the Kids Are Kids! Gala Dinner.

We entertained 150 guests in a beautifully decorated function room for the event.

We performed a mix of contemporary songs and some well-known classical pieces. For an exciting change, we were seated on the dance floor!

We had an absolute ball!

String Trio - Wedding Ceremony - Yi Shiuan and Gurkaran

The winter wedding was held at the beautiful Wildflower Pavilion at Kings Park. Nestled among plenty of greenery this picturesque venue was the perfect setting for a sunny winter wedding. The lawns were beautifully manicured and complemented the blue skies perfectly.

Yi Shiuan and Gurkaran selected all their feature songs and background music, but asked us to add more music in if needed. They selected contemporary music to be played before their ceremony. This included songs by Coldplay,  The Verve and Bruno Mars.

The music accompanied the ceremony beautifully. Yi Shiuan and her bridesmaids entered to 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri which was a stunning, elegant choice. The couple exited to 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' by Stevie Wonder. The ceremony itself was simple and included a wine ritual - the couple locked away a bottle of wine with love letters to each other. The couple then exchanged vows and rings. They signed the register to 'My Way' by Frank Sinatra.

After the ceremony, we continued to play upbeat music as the couple had portraits taken with their family and friends.

String Duo - Wedding Ceremony - Cassandra and Patryk

It was so much fun to provide music for this couple!

Cassandra and Patryk were married in a traditional Catholic wedding service but their song choices were much less conventional.

The bride opted for a less traditional song choice for her walk down the aisle, making her entrance to the theme of the TV show, 'Game of Thrones.' They requested a bit of music following the kiss and an excerpt from 'Lucky' by Jason Mraz was the perfect accompaniment. The couple continued the contemporary theme by signing the register to 'Chandelier' by Sia before exiting as newlyweds to the 'Star Wars' theme song!

The Catholic ceremony also required music for the Gospel Alleluia, which we provided for the congregation to sing along to.

Background music was made up of a variety of modern songs and was the perfect entertainment on such a rainy afternoon.

String Quartet - Wedding Ceremony - Rebecca and Daniel

Rebecca and Daniel's wedding ceremony was a traditional and intimate event. Held in the magnificent St George's Cathedral, the ceremony was especially significant as the celebrant was the bride's father.

The couple chose very traditional pieces of music for their ceremony but contemporary songs for background music. Rebecca walked down the aisle to 'Canon in D' (Pachelbel). The couple signed the register to an elegant rendition of 'Halo' by Beyonce, which was the perfect mix of classical and contemporary. They exited to a fantastic piece by the Cathedral organist. Background music was a rotation of songs by Coldplay, Beyonce, The Verve, Eric Clapton and other artists.

Rebecca is a teacher and involved her students in the ceremony. One student gave a beautiful performance of 'All of Me' by John Legend. The students, as a group, formed a guard of honour as the newlyweds and the bridal party exited.

Rebecca and Daniel- thank you for trusting us with the music on your big day. We wish you all the best.

String Duo - Corporate Function - Engineers Australia

Engineers Australia held their dinner function at the Pan Pacific Hotel. The dinner was followed by an hour of networking where dessert would also be served  by the dessert buffet. The organisation chose our string duo to provide light background music to accompany this.

We chose less upbeat music but made sure all the music was in keeping with the theme of the event. Our playlist included 'Ben' by Michael Jackson, 'Hey There Delilah' by The Plain White Ts and '5000 Candles in the Wind' by Mouse Rat - all songs which work extremely well for string duo.

At the conclusion of the event, we were generously given a take away box of desserts as the event had been over catered for!

String Quartet - Proposal - Chris and Renee

Romantic Gestures is one of Perth's leading proposal planning companies and we were thrilled to be invited to work with them again.

Wade and Natalie enjoyed a helicopter ride over the picturesque Swan Valley Vineyards landing two fields away from Brookleigh Estate.  They then followed a trail of red rose petals to a beautifully styled private gazebo. Chris popped the question and we were overjoyed to see Renee say yes! The couple enjoyed a fruit and cheese platter, accompanied by our music, before taking some quick portraits together. They were then transported by a vintage black cadillac.

It was our pleasure to be a part of such a special occasion and we would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Violin Duo - Wedding Ceremony - Rosa and Daniel

Rosa and Daniel were married in one of Kings Park's most popular pavilions. The couple chose to have our violin duo perform all contemporary music. They showcased their love using the music by choosing very romantic songs, all of which are very popular at weddings.

Key feature pieces were:

  • Processional- A Thousand Years (Christina Perri)
  • Signing of the Register- All of Me (John Legend) and Stay With Me (Sam Smith)
    • Recessional- Marry You (Bruno Mars)

Background music selections were in keeping with the theme of the feature pieces and included 'Love Me Like You Do' by Elie Goulding, 'I'm Yours' by Jason Mraz and 'Thinking Out Loud' by Ed Sheeran.

It was  beautiful ceremony and as always, we are honoured to have played a part.

Harp and Violin Duo - Wedding Ceremony - Louise and Tarik

The lovely Louise chose an elegant harp and violin duo to provide music for her wedding to Tarik. The ceremony was set beside the lush autumnal vineyards by the Verdehlo lawn at Sandalford Wines.

We provided music throughout the ceremony, as well as music to entertain guests arriving until the bride made her grand entrance by horse and carriage. We played a mix of classical and contemporary music. Feature pieces were:

  • Processional- Canon in D (Pachelbel)
  • Minuet in F Major (Handel)
  • Recessional- Get Luck (Daft Punk)

We were asked to select music for Louise and chose classical music to complement the instruments chosen. We played a selection of classical pieces and included slow modern songs such as 'Everything I Do' by Bryan Adams and 'Wonderful Tonight' by Eric Clapton.

Louise and Tarik, we feel honoured to have been a part of your special day and wish you all the best for your futures together.

String Duo - Wedding Ceremony - Natalie and Chris

"Thanks so much guys- music was awesome!!" - Natalie (Bride) via Instagram

Natalie and Chris were married on a brisk Perth winter's day. The pair tied the knot at the popular Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Highgate and chose a violin and cello duo to provide the soundtrack to their big day. The violin and cello combination is our most popular duo.

The couple chose to mix classical music for the bride's entrance and signing of the register, ending with a modern song. This is a very popular way to combine classical and modern music.

Natalie and her bridal party entered to the timeless 'Canon in D' by Pachelbel. The couple continued the classical theme with Schubert's famous 'Ave Maria' playing as they signed the register. After a short blessing, the happy couple walked up the aisle as husband and wife to 'Viva la Vida' by Coldplay - one of our favourite songs for the recessional.

Congratulations Natalie and Chris!

Flute and Violin Duo - Wedding Reception - Nadia and Glen

We entertained guests at Nadia and Glen's wedding reception at Matilda Bay Restaurant with a number of flute and violin duets.

On the playlist for the evening was a selection of romantic songs, including 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri and 'All of Me' by John Legend.

The music blended in perfectly with the romantic pink and white theme of the reception.

String Quartet - Wedding Fair - First Comes Love

We had a marvelous afternoon playing for the First Comes Love Fair in Mosman Park.

The string quartet is our most popular ensemble and we decided to use this performance opportunity to show it off! Although it sounds great playing classical music, we decided to perform contemporary music to showcase the capabilities of the ensemble.

We mixed modern wedding songs ( such as 'All of Me' by John Legend and 'Marry You' by Bruno Mars) with some of favourites that translate surprisingly well for string quartet (such as 'We're In Heaven' by DJ Sammy and 'Firework' by Katy Perry).

Our musicians were dressed in gorgeous gowns from the Pia Gladys Perey Collection provided by Nora and Elle Bridesmaids.

String Quartet - Corporate Event - Australian and NZ College of Dermatologists Graduation Ceremony

Our string quartet was the perfect musical addition to the Australian and NZ College of Dermatologists' graduation ceremony. The event took place in the Riverside Theatre at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. After a short soundcheck, we were all ready to go.

Our repertoire for the evening was all classical, in keeping with the formal tone of the event. We played Vivaldi's 'Spring' for the processional and excerpts from the Australian and New Zealand national anthems to formally open the ceremony. After awards we presented and formalities concluded, an interlude took place during which we played Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring' by J.S Bach. The ceremony then concluded as 'Air in D' also by J.S Bach was played for the recessional.

We congratulate the graduates on this significant milestone in their careers.

String Quartet - Community Event - Festival in the Wood

We love any opportunity to bring our string quartet to the community and Festival in the Wood was the perfect chance. We gave our concert black attire a break and wore casual dress instead, as per the event organiser's request to fit in with the theme of the event. We covered a list of well known modern songs, playing in two sets.

We loved seeing people recognise our music!
