String Quartet-WA Symphony Orchestra Open Day
"Great to hear from you and thanks again to you and your quartet for your performance on Sunday- Frozen went down a treat!" - Claire (WASO)
We performed at the first ever WASO Open Day.
The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is one of WA's largest and most active performing arts organisations. The WASO has an esteemed reputation for excellence and our musicians were thrilled to be part of their very first 'WASO Open Day.'
The Perth Concert Hall threw open their doors for WASO Open Day - a jam-packed day of activities, giving families and the community the chance to explore the behind the scenes world of professional music making.
Our string quartet was told we would be playing background music in the foyer, only to find chairs set up on the Terrace Level Corner Stage! We played a one hour sshowcase set and seats filled up quickly, with many standing on the staircases to watch us play! We had free reign over the repertoire, so we chose to play well recognised tunes, including 'Eine Kleine Natchmusik Suite' (Mozart) 'Viva la Vida' and 'Clocks' (Coldplay) and even 'Let it Go' from Frozen!
It was such a fun and enjoyable morning- for both us and our audience!
