Autumn 2026
Autumn isn’t over yet but it’s rainy today so it feels a bit like winter. Here are some of the highlights from the last few months.
Our first Autumn performance was for Jessica and Russell’s wedding at beautiful Rothwood, a beautiful new-ish venue in Welshpool. The gardens are lush, the staff were very friendly and helpful and there’s plenty of parking onsite - all green flags from us! The guests were a very cool crowd - one of the groomsmen even had real flowers woven into his beard! Karli, their celebrant, was also very cool, as were her shoes. We highly recommend her if you’re looking for a fun ceremony.
On an unseasonably hot March day our duo performed at Samantha and and Jess’s wedding at Nikola Estate. We were very grateful to be sitting right next to a portable air conditioning unit they organised for us. Our instruments don’t do well in the heat. We got to chat with Samantha just before the reception, where she thanked us for our performance and told us about learning guitar while she was in school. Special shout out to Jessica for rocking an amazing black veil with her white wedding dress. Wish I got a photo. Here’s one of Liz under the vines instead.
One of my favourite things is performing at my friends’ weddings and that’s what Krista got to do in April. Can you tell she’s excited? Amelia and Stefan tied the knot in iconic Kings Park on a lovely sunny day.
Meanwhile, our trio performed for Sinead and Kayde at Lily Farm House. The iconic Jesse B made their union official while sporting his usual shorts, tattoos and luscious long hair. Another laid back, off-beat ceremony. It’s hard to say if Sinead and Kayde or these alpacas were the main attraction…
On another busy day with three performances, our quartet began with a surprise for the bride at Sandalford Winery. Anthony asked us to surprise Kahlia by performing some of her favourite songs outside the bridal party’s room just before the ceremony. We also played during the ceremony, where Larissa recounted their love story, which began at high school! We entertained the guests afterwards until the reception, where I’m sure they had an unforgettable night dancing and celebrating. Huge thank you to Anthea Auld for capturing our quartet in action during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, our violin and flute duo performed some extra special arrangements for Varisha and Darshan. Please ask if you would like us to perform any songs that aren’t currently in our repertoire list. We are happy to arrange them for you.
While most of our performances are at weddings, we are happy to provide music for all sorts of events. Our trio performed at an 80th birthday party that afternoon, while enjoying river views at the Perth Royal Yacht Club. Congratulations on 80 years!
Our string quartet returned to Royal Perth Yacht Club on Mother’s Day for Roger and Gillian’s wedding. It was a heartfelt ceremony with a backdrop of blue skies. We stayed to entertain everyone during the high tea reception, catered by Ultimo - I highly recommend their chocolate brownies! We received some lovely feedback from their guests, the minister and the happy couple. Thanks again for inviting us to your special day! Thanks also to the staff at the yacht club for making us top quality coffees, especially for these super stars, working on Mother’s Day!
Meanwhile, our string duo performed for Juene and Victor at Vines of the Yarra Valley in Victoria. The couple requested a mash-up of two of their favourite pieces of classical music for the bride’s processional - which we’re keeping a secret so no one copies.
