Thanks to Christmas and the warm weather, summer is always busy for us. To kick off the season, Victor Smorgon Group invited us to perform at their Christmas party again. Our duo found some colourful artwork to be the backdrop for a post-gig photo.

The next day our string duo in Sydney got to accompany the children from the Academy for Early Learners at their graduation concert. The highlight may have been the free ice cream afterwards!

Just before Christmas we got to perform at the wedding of a friend’s friend, which was extra special. Apparently the food at the reception was delicious too! Shout out to The Bollywood Restaurant.

Only two days after Christmas we had another beautiful wedding at St George’s College. We got to meet their celebrant Emily, who I highly recommend, especially if you’re down South. There were two beautiful dogs running around spreading love but they were too fast for me to get a photo. Here’s one of us instead, featuring the lovely Sarah, who was over visiting for Christmas.

I was looking forward to retuning to Ritz Carlton for Gabrielle and Rayner’s wedding - it’s just so fancy and luxurious! It was an intimate wedding and the couple requested that we perform a few special songs during the ceremony. We were happy to oblige! Thank you Ring and Veil photography for sharing this shot.

A week later we had a very different wedding venue - The Maali at Perth Zoo! It was a very windy day; so windy that the umbrellas we were sitting under (be SunSmart folks) kept blowing over, even though they had sandbags on their bases. Shout out to the event coordinator who did a wonderful job of looking after us and helped us relocate to an area with more wind protection. We got some lovely feedback from the guests and some of them made a game of guessing what song we were playing, which can be tricky when it’s being performed on string instruments instead of voice, guitar and piano!

Our string quartet finished the season with performances at Ripple Ablity’s presentation evening, entertaining guests between speakers. If you haven’t heard of Ripple Ability I recommend visiting their website. They’re a dedicated team doing amazing work! Everyone there was very appreciative of our music and we received some lovely feedback. Thanks again for inviting us to be part of your event!
