String Quartet- Wedding, Kylie and Paul
Paul called us just three days before his wedding to Kylie to enquire about hiring our string quartet! Yes, it was short notice but as our music is all rehearsed ahead of time, we were able to fill the booking with confidence.
The wedding was held at the beautiful Barrett Lane Function Centre. Nestled amongt fields of vineyards in the Swan Valley, this picturesque venue was the perfect setting for a spring wedding. The gardens were beautifully manicured and the courtyard for the ceremony was conveniently next to the function centre for the reception.
Kylie and Paul sent their music selections to us with less than 48 hours to go! They selected all their feature songs and background music, but asked us to add more music in if needed. They selected jazz numbers to be played before their ceremony. This included songs by Tony Bennet, Cole Porter and Gershwin. We added in 'What a Wonderful World' as the ceremony started later than scheduled.
Kylie walked down the aisle to 'Here Comes the Sun' by The Beatles. The couple exited to 'All You Need is Love,' also by The Beatles- they must be fans? The ceremony itself was simple. After a warm welcome, we heard two poems read by friends and family. The couple then exchanged vows and rings. They signed the register to 'Sweet Child O' Mine' by Guns 'n' Roses! It's a quirky song for a wedding but we loved it.
After the ceremony, we continued to play upbeat music as the guests enjoyed some garden games, croquet and canapes on the lawn. We played songs by Sia, Daft Punk and Florence and the Machine to name a few.
Congratulations to Kylie and Paul! Thanks for asking us to be involved on your special day.
